TAFI UK announces two new patrons

Over the last two months, both the Pears Foundation and Sir Mark Moody Stuart have agreed to become patrons of TAFI UK. They join an already distinguished list of patrons, which includes Michael Howard QC, Morris Bentata, Sir Andrew Burns, Maqsood Ahmed OBE and Lord Alderdice. We are thrilled to have such a diverse group of patrons, and look forward to their involvement with TAFI UK.

The Pears Foundation seeks to promote social justice though its grant programme and invests in excess of £6million annually across five main areas: Community and Young People; International Development;  Genocide Prevention; Israel (Civil rights in Israel and promoting Israel’s academic expertise) and Philanthropy. In Israel, The Foundation aims to tackle disadvantage and discrimination, particularly amongst Israel’s Ethiopian and Arab citizens. It also aims to increase engagement and understanding among Jewish communities in Europe about Israel’s Arab citizens.

Sir Mark Moody-Stuart was Chairman of the Royal Dutch Shell Group from 1998 to 2001 and of Anglo American plc from 2002 to 2009. After a doctorate in geology in 1966 at Cambridge, he worked for Shell starting as an exploration geologist, living in Holland, Spain, Oman, Brunei, Australia, Nigeria, Turkey and Malaysia, and UK. He is a Director of HSBC Holdings, Saudi Aramco and Accenture, the Chairman of Global Compact Foundation, Vice President of the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine and Trustee of the International Institute of Sustainable Development.
